Mark W. Jalkut, MD Board-certified, Urology
Dr. Mark Jalkut grew up in New England and graduated from Dartmouth College Summa Cum Laude with a degree in chemistry and was nominated to Phi Beta Kappa. He pursued his medical degree at Stanford University and completed an Internship in general surgery and Residency in Urology at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Professionally, Dr. Jalkut enjoys caring for patients with all urologic problems and is especially interested in urologic cancer, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, female and reconstructive urology. He is the most experienced robotic urologic surgeon in Wake County, specializing in prostate cancer, kidney cancer and reconstructive surgeries. He has proctored several physicians in Wake County and across the State in robotic and reconstructive surgeries. Doctor Jalkut has been nominated to “Best Doctors.” He maintains an interest in research, having chaired the Institutional Review Board at Rex Hospital and serves as a Primary Investigator for several ongoing clinical trials involving ED, Prostate Cancer, Overactive Bladder and BPH.
His wife is an Ob/Gyn physician originally from Oxford, NC and they relocated to Raleigh in 2004. They have 3 children. He enjoys skiing, rooting for the Boston Red Sox and making his children laugh.
