Neurogenic Bladder

Neurogenic bladder refers to poor function of the bladder as a result of a problem in the nervous system. This can be caused by another medical condition or by an injury, such as trauma to the brain, spinal cord, or pelvic nerves. Children with neurogenic bladder may have trouble emptying their bladder completely or they may empty, but without full voluntary control of this function.  Your first appointment will include a detailed discussion of your child's history and shared decision making on future therapies to support their specific needs.
