Posterior Urethral Valves

Posterior urethral valves refer to abnormal tissue in the urethra (tube that drains the urine from the bladder), that can cause obstruction (blockage) in drainage of the urinary tract.   This can occur in boys and often requires a pediatric urology evaluation as soon as possible.  Intervention and treatment depends on the degree of blockage, and the condition of your child.
